Most reports we cannot act on are missing one thing: the numbers. If a calculator gave you a result that looks wrong, tell us the page, the exact values you entered, the result you saw and the result you expected. With those four pieces we can usually reproduce the problem in a couple of minutes; without them we generally cannot.

For content errors, quote the sentence and say what it should read instead. Every formula and reference figure on this site is checked against an independent source before publication, but figures move — cost ranges in particular shift by region and by year — and a specific correction is far more useful than a general note that something looks off.

For feature requests, tell us what job you were doing when the tool fell short. The most useful requests we get describe the task rather than the feature: knowing that someone was estimating a cut-up bathroom floor tells us more than a request for a particular button.

What we cannot help with

We cannot quote your project, recommend a contractor, or settle a dispute about a property's square footage. The tools here produce planning estimates, and a measurement that carries legal or financial weight needs a licensed appraiser or surveyor who will sign their name to it.
